DESCRIPTION

The Food Safety Direct UV GlowBag 120 Complete Hygiene Training Kit is a professional UV training and contamination detection system designed to demonstrate both effective hand washing and surface cleaning procedures. Combining hand hygiene training with cross contamination and germ transfer demonstrations, this comprehensive kit provides a highly visual and engaging way to improve hygiene awareness and infection prevention practices.

Ideal for schools, healthcare environments, food safety training, care homes, laboratories, workplace hygiene programmes, and infection control education, the kit uses UV light technology to reveal contamination that would normally be invisible to the naked eye.

The included 240ml bottle of GlitterBug® Potion is used to demonstrate correct hand washing technique. After applying the lotion and washing hands normally, any missed areas glow brightly under UV light when inspected inside the GlowBag disclosure centre or with the included UV torch. This instantly highlights areas where germs could remain after poor hand washing.

The 35g tub of GlitterBug® Powder is used to demonstrate how germs and contamination spread across surfaces, hands, and shared environments. The powder can be lightly applied using the included brush to simulate contamination on desks, door handles, equipment, or work surfaces. After cleaning, the UV light reveals any remaining residue, helping users identify areas that have not been cleaned effectively.

The larger UV GlowBag 120 disclosure centre creates a controlled UV viewing environment for clearer and more impactful demonstrations. Combined with the additional handheld 9 LED UV torch, the kit is suitable for both individual and group training sessions.

How to Use Glitterbug

Teach good hand hygiene - Magically!

GlitterBug is a product line that makes hand hygiene education interesting, fun, and memorable. The GlitterBug Potion is a fluorescent lotion that when used with a UV lamp makes it possible to see how well hands are washed. The GlitterBug Powder is used to see how contamination and germs can travel. GlitterBug Gel is an innovative product designed for teaching, testing and evaluating hand-sanitiser application technique.

It is perfect for schools, healthcare professionals and food-handling businesses. Ideal for use with our unique collection of training lamps, cabinets and kits.

How to use the Potion

Using the potion is a simple 3 step process:

  1. Ask the student to rub the potion on their hands.
  2. The student washes and dries their hands as normal.
  3. When placed under a UV lamp any areas not washed properly will show up - as if by magic!

For more information, please download:

How to use the Powder

Dust the powder on a sheet of paper and hand it round the room. A check with the UV lamp and you can demonstrate how easily powder (or germs) can be spread from person to person. Alternatively spread the powder on a work surface and ask someone to clean it. Again the UV light will show up any areas that have been missed. For more information, please download: GlitterBug Powder Datasheet.

How to use the Gel

Ask the student to rub the Gel on their hands as they would a hand sanitiser. When the hands are placed under a UV lamp any areas not covered properly will not glow. These are areas that in practice must be covered for a sanitiser to be effective. For more information, please download: GlitterBug Gel Datasheet
