Thermometer Calibration & Certificates
Keep Your Readings Accurate, Compliant and Audit-Ready
Accurate temperature monitoring isn’t optional – it’s essential for food safety, healthcare, laboratories, manufacturing and any temperature-critical process. Even the best thermometer will drift over time through regular use, knocks, or exposure to extreme conditions. That’s where our professional thermometer calibration service and calibration certificates come in.
Why Calibrate Your Thermometers?
-
Protect
Protect food safety & hygiene ratings – prove hot and cold holding temperatures are genuinely within safe limits.
-
Compliant
Pass audits and inspections – provide clear evidence of due diligence for HACCP, EHO visits and BRC/retail audits.
-
Quality
Maintain product quality – avoid under-processing, over-cooking or spoilage caused by inaccurate readings.
-
Risk
Reduce risk & liability – documented calibration shows you’ve taken reasonable steps to ensure safe operation.

Our Thermometer Calibration Service
We offer a dedicated calibration service so you can keep using the thermometers you know and trust – backed by proper paperwork.
We can calibrate a wide range of instruments, including:
- Digital probe thermometers
- Handheld infrared / laser thermometers
- Fridge and freezer thermometers
What we offer
- Calibration of new thermometers – add a certificate when you buy, so your instrument arrives ready for use and audit-ready from day one.
- Calibration of your existing thermometers – send us your current instruments and we’ll arrange professional calibration and certification.
- Choice of calibration type – from standard traceable certificates for everyday use to arranged UKAS-accredited calibration when higher-level compliance is required.
Calibration Certificates – What You Get
Every calibrated thermometer can be supplied with a calibration certificate confirming its performance at specific temperature points.
A typical certificate includes:
-
Instrument details (model and serial number)
-
Calibration date and certificate number
-
Temperature points tested and measured readings
-
Any corrections or deviations from true temperature
-
Details of the reference equipment used
-
Traceability to recognised standards
This gives you a clear audit trail and the documentation many inspectors expect to see when they ask, “How do you know that thermometer is accurate?”
Traceable vs UKAS Calibration
Different applications have different requirements. We can help you choose the level of calibration that’s appropriate for your business:
-
Traceable Calibration
Ideal for most catering, food production and general industrial use. Your thermometer is checked against a reference instrument which is itself traceable to recognised standards. This is usually sufficient for HACCP documentation and routine inspections. -
UKAS-Accredited Calibration (Arranged Service)
Where a higher level of assurance is needed – for example in laboratories, high-risk food production, pharmaceutical or critical process environments – we can arrange UKAS calibration testing and certification on new thermometers or units you send to us.
If you’re unsure what level you need, our team can advise based on your sector, customer requirements and audit expectations.
How Our Calibration Service Works?
How Our Calibration Service Works?
Choose your option
- Buying a new thermometer? Add calibration/certificate at the point of purchase (or contact us to discuss UKAS options).
- Calibrating existing kit? Contact us with the models and quantities you’d like to send in.
Send us your instruments
- Pack your thermometers securely and send them to us. We’ll take care of the rest – from arranging the calibration to issuing your paperwork.
Calibration & testing
- Your thermometers are checked at one or more key temperature points (for example around 0°C for chilling and +70°C to +90°C for cooking, depending on your needs).
Receive your calibrated thermometer & certificate
- Your instruments are returned to you together with a full calibration certificate, ready to file in your HACCP or quality documentation.
How Often Should You Calibrate?
How Often Should You Calibrate?
There isn’t a single rule for everyone – it depends how critical the measurement is and how heavily the thermometer is used. As a guide:
- Catering & food safety – many businesses calibrate at least annually, with in-house checks more frequently.
- High-use or high-risk applications – consider more frequent calibration or additional spot-checks using reference thermometers or calibration check units.
- Any time a thermometer is dropped, damaged or giving odd readings – re-calibrate or replace.
If your inspection bodies or customers have specific requirements (for example annual UKAS certificates), we can help you set up a suitable schedule.
