Brannan 300mm Probe Compost Thermometer
Couldn't load pickup availability
The Brannan Compost Thermometer provides a simple and effective way to monitor the internal temperature of compost, helping you understand whether the composting process is working effectively.
Temperature is an important indicator of activity within a compost heap. By inserting the long stainless steel probe directly into the compost, you can monitor conditions below the surface and identify whether the compost is within an appropriate temperature range.
The large 50mm analogue dial incorporates coloured temperature zones, making readings quick and easy to interpret at a glance. This is particularly useful when regularly checking a compost heap, bin or pile and removes the need to rely solely on the numerical temperature reading.
With a measurement range of 0°C to 80°C and divisions of 2°C, the thermometer is suitable for monitoring the changing temperatures associated with the composting process.
Its long probe measures approximately 300mm, allowing the thermometer to reach deeper into compost where microbial activity and temperatures can be considerably different from those at the surface.
Manufactured from stainless steel and aluminium, the thermometer offers a practical and durable design for regular outdoor use. It requires no batteries or external power, making it a convenient tool for gardeners, allotment holders, horticultural businesses and anyone looking to manage compost more effectively.
