2 Pack / UV Hand Hygiene Training Indicator Lotion 200ml

The Daro UV Indicator Lotion provides a simple and highly visual way to demonstrate effective handwashing and identify areas where washing technique could be improved.
The lotion is applied to the hands and wrists before washing, in the same way as a hand cream. After washing normally, the hands are inspected using a suitable UVA hand inspection cabinet or UV light. Any indicator lotion that has not been successfully removed fluoresces blue under UVA light, clearly highlighting areas that may have been missed during washing.
This immediate visual feedback makes the lotion particularly useful for practical hand hygiene training. Rather than simply explaining correct handwashing technique, trainers can demonstrate the importance of thoroughly washing the entire hand, including commonly missed areas.
Daro developed the lotion for use alongside its UV hand inspection equipment as an educational aid for teaching and assessing handwashing technique. Its hand hygiene systems are used across healthcare, education, care, food manufacturing and other professional environments.
Supplied by Food Safety Direct as a single 200ml bottle.

How Does the UV Indicator Lotion Work?
The training exercise can be carried out in three simple stages:
-
Apply the lotion – distribute the UV Indicator Lotion over the hands and wrists.
-
Wash hands normally – wash using the handwashing technique being demonstrated or assessed.
-
Inspect under UVA light – place the hands beneath a suitable UVA inspection light or inside a hand inspection cabinet.
Any remaining indicator lotion will fluoresce under the UVA light. These fluorescent areas provide an immediate visual indication of where the handwashing process may need to be improved.
The exercise helps demonstrate that effective handwashing depends not only on washing the hands, but also on using the correct technique and friction to reach all areas.
Practical Handwashing Training
UV hand hygiene training turns handwashing into a practical exercise that participants can see and assess for themselves.
Areas that appear clean under normal lighting can still contain UV Indicator Lotion. Inspection under UVA light makes remaining lotion visible, allowing trainers and participants to identify patterns in the areas being missed.
The exercise can then be repeated following instruction, helping users improve their handwashing technique through immediate visual feedback.
Ideal For
Daro UV Indicator Lotion is ideal for hand hygiene education and infection prevention training within NHS and healthcare environments, hospitals, care homes, schools, colleges, universities, dental practices, veterinary environments, food manufacturing businesses, gyms, workplaces and professional training organisations. Daro specifically identifies these sectors for its hand hygiene education system.
Safety & Storage
The Daro Safety Data Sheet classifies UV Indicator Lotion as non-hazardous in normal and reasonably foreseeable use and states that it does not meet the criteria for classification as hazardous under the CLP Regulation.
The lotion is designed for topical application to the hands and wrists according to the instructions. Avoid contact with the eyes. In the unlikely event of skin irritation, wash thoroughly with soap and water and seek medical attention if irritation persists.
Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight. The manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet gives a shelf life of 3 years unopened and a 24-month period after opening (PAO).
