UV Germ Hygiene Training Spray 250ml

UV GERM Hygiene Training Spray provides a practical and highly visual way to demonstrate how contamination can spread between people, surfaces and the surrounding environment.
The British-made, non-toxic, water-based spray simulates the cross-contamination characteristics of microbes and other particle-based contaminants. Once applied, the simulated contamination can be revealed using a suitable UV light, helping trainers demonstrate contamination routes that would otherwise be difficult to see.
The spray is particularly useful for environmental hygiene, infection prevention and cross-contamination training, allowing participants to see how contamination can spread through contact, splashes, droplets and airborne mist.
An adjustable spray nozzle allows the application to be changed from a fine mist through to a stronger jet, making it possible to simulate different contamination scenarios including spills, splashes, splatter and airborne droplets.
Different UV colours can also be used to represent separate contamination sources. This makes it possible to demonstrate not only where simulated contamination has spread, but potentially which original source it came from.

Demonstrating Cross-Contamination
One of the challenges of hygiene training is that contamination is normally invisible. UV GERM Hygiene Training Spray allows trainers to create simulated contamination that can subsequently be revealed under UV light.
The spray can be applied to selected surfaces or used to create controlled splash, splatter and droplet demonstrations. Participants can then examine the surrounding environment under UV light to see how far the simulated contamination has travelled.
This provides an immediate visual demonstration of how easily contamination can spread and can help reinforce the importance of effective cleaning, infection prevention and good hygiene procedures.
Blue, Green & Red UV Colours
UV GERM Hygiene Training Spray is available in three UV-revealing colours: blue, green and red. Using different colours can be particularly useful when demonstrating multiple contamination sources within the same training exercise.
For example, separate colours can represent different people, surfaces or contamination points. When the area is subsequently inspected under UV light, trainers can demonstrate both where simulated contamination has travelled and its original source.
This can make more complex cross-contamination exercises easier for participants to understand.
Simulating Coughs, Sneezes & Droplet Spread
The adjustable spray head provides considerably more flexibility than simply applying the product to a surface. Rotating the nozzle changes the spray pattern from a fine mist through to a stronger jet, allowing trainers to create different simulated contamination patterns.
The manufacturer specifically identifies the product as suitable for demonstrating the distribution patterns associated with coughs and sneezes, as well as spills, splashes, splatter and mist-based airborne droplets.
This makes the spray particularly useful where training needs to demonstrate how contamination can travel beyond the immediately obvious contact point.
How to Use
- Shake the bottle well before use.
- Rotate the nozzle tip to select the required spray pattern, ranging from a fine mist to a stronger jet.
- Use the spray as part of a controlled hygiene or cross-contamination training exercise, then inspect the relevant surfaces and surrounding area using a suitable UV light.
- For the clearest fluorescence and easiest inspection, use the UV light in a darkened environment.
Ideal For
UV GERM Hygiene Training Spray is suitable for hospitals, NHS and healthcare environments, care homes, infection prevention teams, schools, colleges, universities, laboratories, hygiene trainers, cleaning teams and workplaces where practical cross-contamination and environmental hygiene training is required.
It can be particularly useful for:
- Cross-contamination demonstrations
- Infection prevention training
- Environmental hygiene training
- Cleaning and decontamination exercises
- Droplet and splash demonstrations
- Cough and sneeze simulation
- Staff hygiene awareness
- Practical classroom and training exercises
Important Usage Information
The product is water based and must not be sprayed onto electrical equipment.
Shake well before use and adjust the nozzle to achieve the required spray pattern.
Store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight.
As this product is designed to create simulated contamination during practical training, exercises should be planned and controlled appropriately for the environment in which they are being carried out.
